From September 2021, we held study sessions on p5.js with students from Shikoku University and other universities twice a week (Monday and Friday) for about one hour. p5.js has become a fun way to create works. With the Corona disaster, we also experienced a lockdown, which was unfortunate because it guaranteed enough time to spend on creating artworks. p5.js started helping high school and junior high school students to create artworks with us in November 2021. The online environment, where Japan and Cambodia could exchange information in real time, was full of new discoveries and the joy of taking on new challenges. As I helped Japanese high school and junior high school students create their works, I felt a desire to convey Cambodia’s scenery and culture through p5.js works.

Therefore, I decided to create a project called “Look! Fascination! Cambodia”, we came to the conclusion that bringing the charms of Cambodia to the people of Japan would contribute to the revival of Cambodia’s tourism industry by increasing the number of people visiting Cambodia after Corona. As tourist guides who have studied Japanese, when we thought that our work on p5.jps and its usefulness to our main business of conveying the charms of Cambodia in Japanese, we ourselves became a major driving force to overcome Corona.

It was the moment when our mission became to deliver the “charm of Cambodia” to everyone through the works we create at p5.js.
